The TSKgel product line was launched in 1972 with the introduction of H-type, polymer-based columns for the analysis of organic-soluble polymers. 1978 saw the start of the PW-type column line for gel filtration of water-soluble polymers. One year earlier, in 1977, Tosoh introduced SW-type, the first of a long line of high performance Gel Filtration columns that would became synonymous with analyzing protein molecular weight in the emerging field of biotechnology. Over the years, H, SW and PW-type column lines have undergone continuous improvement through advances in particle synthesis and column technology.
